Alpha Phi was founded at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York on October 10, 1872. Currently, Alpha Phi was over 160 active chapters and over 200,000 initiated members. It is the fourth Greek letter organization founded for women. Their motto is "union in hand". Notable alumnae include: Polly Rosenbaum (America's longest serving state legislator), Georgia Neese Clark (1st woman Treasurer of the US) and Regina Lasko (wife of David Letterman).
