Miami University is a highly-ranked public university located in Oxford, Ohio. Founded in 1809, although classes were not held until 1824, it is the 10th oldest public university in the United States and the second oldest university in Ohio, founded five years after Ohio University. Miami is a comprehensive research university, but the school's focus is primarily on undergraduate education. In athletics, the Miami University RedHawks compete in the NCAA Division I Mid-American Conference (MAC). The university has one of the highest graduation rates of all Division I schools.
